I am sure that there are many people back home who are praying for us as we are in Des Moines, IA on our “Serve Des Moines” trip. We left this last Saturday and started working at different ministries in the city so here are some pictures of what we have been doing and we are only half done. We have really had a very enjoyable time thus far, we have made new friends, heard amazing stories about what Jesus is doing in people’s lives, and had the opportunity to give a little of ourselves so that Jesus may be exalted.

This past weekend, Oct. 19-21, the Youth Group went on our semi-annual work retreat at Spring Hill Camp. We had a great weekend and got to do some new work that we have never done before (digging rocks out of the ground). Everyone did a great job working while also having alot of fun. Spring Hill – Spring 2008

This Spring the youth group took our semi-annual trip to Spring Hill to help them prepare for the summer. This year was a little different in the fact that there were two groups that arrive the weekends before us so the normal things that we have done in the past were already completed. The only thing that was left was raking grass. This is the first time that I have gone where all we did was rake grass but I was very encouraged by the young people in how they handled it. If you have ever raked grass for 7 hrs. you know what I am talking about. The young people did an excellent job of staying on task and not complaining. We were able to have an enjoyable time together in spite of the circumstances. Click HERE to view the photo slideshow for this event.
